Description

Ironstone Basecoat Render is a factory blended mortar that takes all variables out of the equation, made using Heidelberg Materials Socli Natural Hydraulic Lime, well graded kiln dried sand and alkaline resistant fibres.

Ironstone Basecoat Render offers all of the advantages of the Ironstone ready mixed range but with additional work aids added to significantly improve the mortars physical and mechanical performance.

Suitable for both internal and external backgrounds. The addition of fibres provides reinforcement, improved tensile strength and assists to mitigate cracking especially when using on high-suction backgrounds.

Coverage

A 25kg bag yields approximately 15litres of render and covers 1.5m2 at 10mm.

Do not use in temperatures below 5C or above 30C. Whilst curing protect from adverse environmental conditions including frost, rain, direct sunlight and drying winds.

Preparation

Remove dust, surface contaminants and loose or crumbly material. Ensure Masonry is not waterproofed or painted.

Mix with clean water approximately 4 to 4.5 litres of water to each 25 kg of Basecoat Render.

Please read the datasheet for further advice on mixing, quenching and application. Do not add anything other than clean water.

Further Coats: Ironstone Basecoat Render, Ironstone Finishing Render after 2 to 7 days once the coat has stiffened / hardened, but is still "green".
